September 2009 Recap

September 09

September was a good month, if you’re a New York sports fan.  The Bombers clinched another division title, and the Giants are undefeated.  Now, if A.J. Burnett can get himself straightened out, and the Giants don’t suffer any more injuries, October should be even better!

What are some money saving tips that you use?

    • #2 by enrique s at September 30th, 2009

      Ownbig,

To begin with, I keep a budget, and spend less than I earn. We use coupons, and stock up for things when they’re on sale. We’ll put off purchases of big-ticket items like appliances until we have the money saved up, then use a credit card to accumulate rewards points. Credit cards get paid off each month. Rather than by used items, like many finance blogs recommend, we like to buy quality, well-built items that will last a long time. We keep everything until it’s completely used up, not just when it’s out of fashion. For instance, I still have the same cellphone from 5 years ago. It does what I need it to do. I don’t care what other people think. I think my biggest tip is: don’t spend money just to impress other people. Impress yourself with more money in the bank. Thanks for the comment, and you’re always welcome to visit.
